99.99% of pitching coaches never address the REAL CAUSE. Instead they waste time training to fix the symptom.
A great example of this reductionist approach is teaching “HEEL” connection.
The reason pitchers struggle to keep the “HEEL” connected is due to a movement flaw, most often the INABILITY TO HINGE!I see products being used to address “HEEL” connection and inside the majority of the videos, I see the same problems popping up over and over.
The front leg is unstable.
The arm action or path is inefficient.
Because of the pitchers inability to stabilize the foot.
So, is the problem really with the arm?
No, it’s the feet.
Is the problem really with the feet?
No, it’s the hips.
The Feet and Hips are highly influenced by one another.
The arm is the last link in the chain, so the next time you see an arm action issue, check the feet and when you find the problem with the foot…
Check the hips.
Because that’s the REAL PROBLEM for 99% of the pitchers I see at the amateur level.
Remember… The quality of movement anywhere will affect the quality of movement everywhere!
