Here’s a great story about a fat kid who ends up making millions…
30 years ago on a tropical island, there’s a fat kid who’s primary responsibility is to gather coconuts for his poor family.
Each day, he heads out to the coconut grove with sweet visions of coconut pies dancing in his head.
But – he’s got a problem.
Knocking a heavy, dense coconut out of a tree isn’t going to be easy.
– It’s going to require him to be precise…
– It’s going to require some oomph…
But – he does it because his intent is pretty simple.
#1: It’s do or die… He has a responsibility for his family and if he doesn’t bring home the sweet fruit, his family may go without.
#2: He’s a heavy set kid who really enjoys to eat.
Over time, the kid gets pretty good at to doing this. In fact – he becomes so good at doing this, he’s suddenly become one of the top arms in his native country of the Dominican Republic.
But – it comes at a cost.
You and I both have visions of elite pitchers’ mechanics, right?
So, if you were to aim rocks at the tops of the coconut trees thousands of times a year, for many years, what do you think would happen to your mechanics?
You’d probably begin to short arm the ball right?
It would require you to have precise command..
Enough velocity knock the heavy, dense coconut out of the tree, right?
Let’s face it, not just anyone has the arm strength to knock down a stubborn coconut.
And that’s exactly how Bartolo Colon developed his arm strength and command.
Now you know why his mechanics, are unique to him.
It was his intent that shaped his mechanics, it wasn’t private lessons. In fact – most instructors would have tried to change his mechanics because in their eyes, it wasn’t pleasing.
I see this all the time.
99.999999% of pitching instructors and coaches are too quick to change mechanics and it ends up killing any chance a pitcher has for reaching his maximum capabilities for achieving velocity and command.
Not to mention, increasing the stress levels on his arm.
That’s why I NEVER cookie-cut pitchers. It’s also why I let the individual’s body, make the decisions.
Anytime – you can eliminate ‘over’-coaching and create a program, and let the body do it’s thing…
– The learning curve is drastically shorter…
– The results appear much quicker…
And best of all – Velocity increases, command sharpens and your chances for transferring your gains to the mound, in real live competition can be seen almost instantly.
I’ve been there before and I realize as a former college pitching coach, mechanics are stubborn to change and no matter how great they look inside practice, they go right back to the same old flaws when you jump on the mound.
Unless you know how to over-ride the body’s built in security system.
And that’s what happens whenever you throw on The Core Velocity Belt.
By moving through the center of the body, the arm is forced to move faster –
It’s forced to take a cleaner, safer path and before you know it…
You discover how to throw harder, easier!
But – you don’t have to take my word for it…
Just ask Brandon Gomes of the Chicago Cubs…
Andrew McKirihan of the Atlanta Braves…
Justin Grimm (Cubs)
– Rex Brothers (Cubs)
– Neil Ramirez (Cubs)
– Tommy Shirley (Astros)
Want to see it for yourself?
