Yesterday was my little boy’s birthday. Rex turned 7. And we celebrated but where else… on the baseball field.
So last week to prepare I started putting together a few very special videos to help celebrate the father/son bond we all share at some level. While at the same time, give you some pointers that I’ve learned over the years whether it be coaching at the NCAA D1 level or inside the fences of 5 year old baseball.
It all boils down to one thing…
Coaching is about connecting, it’s about Communicating!
And like you all know, that’s why I preach FEEL.
I Teach Movements you can FEEL. Not Mechanics that you can’t.
Because until an athlete can FEEL what he’s being asked to do, he’s only guessing.
I’m not going to preach today. And I’m not going to do much celebrating either.
Just not today.
And I’ll tell you why.
So happens, today is pretty tough day for Ol’ Dad. My oldest daughter Ryley will be leaving for her last day of school in about 30 minutes.
- Seems like yesterday she was sitting with me on the bus to LSU…
- And then there was the time I was watched her drill a jumper from about 15 ft out, just so she scored for the wrong team, but so what… she still made it.
But what I reflect back most on with Ryley were the early days. Because it was Ryley who was by my side through it all, at the very start of all this.
And you want to know what?
- Had it not been for Ryley there would be no Core Velocity Belt.
- Rex wouldn’t be flown out to Spring Training to coach the MLB coaching staffs on how the body naturally works to increase arm speed.
- Over 170 NCAA D1 schools & 21 MLB teams wouldn’t be using The Core Velocity Belt.
When you think about…
This 6 year old girl rocked the foundations of how velocity and mechanics were coached, prior to The Core Velocity Belt. She changed the instructions game.
Because it was Ryley who invented The Core Velocity Belt.
One night while at Lipscomb, I’d rushed over and picked her up at school. We rushed back and she got to spend the next 4 hours entertaining herself while I did lessons. That was the routine. As a college volunteer you get paid volunteer salary. Free. You work for free.
So, I was constantly in the gym and so was Ryley.
But then one night, she decided she wanted to ski across the floor. So she attached a Jaeger band around her waist and did pretty well for a minute or so.
But then it happened…
I hear BAM, POP Daaaaaaaaaadddddddddyyyyyy!
Oh, no she’s dead!?
I rush to the other end not knowing what to expect after she face-planted into the concrete wall at 10mph and every bit of 31lbs.
As I’m running down to the other end of the gym polluted with Fear, the pitching coach jumps out and says to me…
“Lantz that would be great for pitchers!”
So, I peeled my daughter off the wall and headed off to Wal-mart to get a belt. Next thing you know my wife is playing Cinderella, blowing up sewing machines.
Through the years, we learned how not to do it.
Initially we made the fatal mistake of placing it around our waists like a mountain climbing belt but soon found that did much more harm than good. In fact, it worked against the proper mechanics I teach.
And it took us 9 more years before we finally get The Belt right.
So, there’s a lot going through my mind right now, filled with ups and downs. But to think this is the last day, is not easy. She’s been here for it all and the next thing you know will be leaving for college.
So, I’m going to hold off on some of the videos I was going to show you, and instead I’ll give you a video more fitting for a day like this.
Here’s what I’ve got for you.
“How to Coach Your Son, Like You Really Love Him!”
And I’m also going to share our celebration with you guy on Rex turning seven by doing this….
- Give you one of my favorite videos, I’ve ever produced.
- Let you get $50 off The Core Velocity Belt until Monday.
Not only that,
I want to make sure you get it so I’ll give you a 30 day guarantee of a velocity jump, or you can keep it and I’ll give you everything you invested back.
That’s right. Keep The Belt, get your money back.
You’ve got nothing to lose, only me.
Until next time…
Trust what you FEEL!
P.S: Here’s the link for The Core Velocity Belt, it’s 50 off and you don’t see a gain in velocity, you keep it for free. And one more thing… You know how fast time flies so do yourself a favor and if you can, take your kids to school before its the last day and you don’t get that chance again. Today’s that day for me.
Remember, you Get 50 off until Monday.
